The Mid-Valley Scottish Rite Club is working to
be an active club in Valley of Sacramento again.

Over the past few months Scottish Rite Masons
have been working to re-start this club in the
Yuba City-Marysville area.

With the energy of Club Coordinator Mike
Mavrakis 32, KCCH, in full support, new officers
have been secured, a board of directors selected,
and three formation meetings have been held.

At the second meeting the group was joined by
the ILL. Alvin T. Swanson, Jr. 33, for
lunch and discussion.

All Scottish Rite Masons are invited to attend
and share the fellowship of this effort.

BLACK BUTTE SCOTTISH RITE CLUB— The Black Butte
Installation of Officers dinner was held February 11, 2008 at
the Chico Masonic Family Center. The dinner was attended by
39 members, ladies and guests. We were honored to have Al
Swanson, who came all the way from Sacramento, to be our
Installing Officer. As always, he did a superior job installing
Richard Brown as president, Frank Anderson as vice
president, Rob Peters as treasurer, Steve Moody as secretary,
William Freitas, J.T. Hendrix, Fred Smith, William Vest,
Chuck Boydstrum, and Richard Pozer as board members.
Our thanks go out to Al’s wife, Betty, and Ed Vandiver, who
also made the trip with Al.
